Originally from Southport, England, Private Thomas Walker was a farm labourer from Kyabram, Victoria and founding member of the war-foreshortened Kyvalley British Association Football Club.
Enlisting in mid-November 1916 and training briefly at the Broadmeadows Camp, he embarked with the 18th Reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT Hororata on 23 November 1916. Later transferring to the 66th Battalion, he returned to Australia on 12 January 1919.
Back in Kyvalley, he and his brother Richard were instrumental in refounding the Kyvalley Club. Elected Captain, he played for them until 1926 when he played for Kyabram. In 1927 he captained nearby Lancaster to victory in the inaugural Goulburn Valley Cup.
His whereabouts after this are difficult to trace but he lived in Melbourne in 1954 and attended his brother Richard’s funeral in Tongala the same year.
