Newly arrived British migrant Thomas Sidney Pidgeon barely had time to join the Adelaide soccer community before he was killed at Gallipoli.
A 21 years old labourer from London he was living with his married sister at Queenstown in April 1914, a short distance from Alberton Oval. He was named in a 20 strong Port Adelaide squad for a pre-season friendly against Sturt – but that seems to be his only involvement for the season. He enlisted in the 16th Battalion in October, and was killed on 15 May 1915.
His soccer involvement was so fleeting that he does not appear on the Alagich list of Port enlistments.
