Thomas Coxall arrived in Sydney from England in 1912. In 1914 and 1915 he apeared on Cessnock team lists. On 2 July 1915 the Cessnock Eagle reported “The local soccer players are being well represented at the front. Tom Coxall, another of the team, was farewelled at Hampton’s Hall, last Monday night preparatory to going into camp. Mr. W. Brown made the presentation of a wristlet watch to the guest, which he described as a small token of the good wishes of his comrades.” Corporal Coxall saw action Gallipoli. He was transferred to the 54th Battalion and killed in action in France on 19 July 1916. He was 26 years of age.
