Norman Munro appeared in an Honor Roll for the Claremont club published in The Western Chronicle on 14 July 1923. A product of Claremont State School, he enlisted at the age of 19 and it seems that he represented Claremont in their junior teams.

Barely seven months after he enlisted Private Munro was killed in action at Gallipoli on 16 December 1915. Two older brother were also killed in World War 1, Gunner Eric James Garfield Munro killed in an air raid on 16 February 1918 while in England in with the 2nd Field Artillery Brigade and Sergeant Roy Campbell Munro was killed in action on 26 February 1917 in France.
