The Perth Daily News reported on 4 July 1915, “PRIVATE L. C. PRICE, killed in action at the Dardanelles; 11th Battalion, A Company. Son of Mr. Matt Price, 1205 Hay-street West, Perth. Age 22 years, height 6ft 1in. Spent years in military training as an enthusiast, and was amongst the first to enlist in the First Australian Division. Employed by. E. S. and D. Kelly, of William street, wholesale jewellers. In sport Private Price was a soccer footballer, and the Perth British Association Club has forwarded to his father a letter of condolence, expressing its deep regret that so promising a career had been cut short.”
