On 18 November 1911, 20 year old Welshman, John Parry departed London bound for Fremantle. He settled in Moonyoonooka, near Geraldton, where he became a farmer and played for the local soccer team.
He enlisted in January 1916 and saw action on the Western Front where he survived the war relatively unscathed. We can’t confirm his involvement with the game after his return.
By 1928 he was living in Perth, married Edith and they had three daughters together. John Parry passed away in 1982 at the age of 89.
