According to the Roll Of Honour Circular, Private Mowbray was fearless in dangers of any kind where life or property was likely to be lost. For this he won the Military Medal which was posthumously given to his uncle. He was killed on 30 September 1915 at Gallipoli. He was 26 years of age.
