Alexander Mollison played for Casuals, Corinthians and Middle Ridge in the Toowoomba leagues before enlisting in July 1914. He was part of a footballing family alongside brothers Duncan and David.
Mollison’s war was largely spent in Egypt serving with the 14th General Hospital Guard but was regularly interrupted with malaria. In January 1918 he was transferred to the 32nd Company of the Australian and New Zealand Division Train, providing mounted transport services in Egypt and Palestine. Mollison was wounded at Jericho three months later and ultimately returned to Australia in July.
His name was added to the Toowoomba British Football Association honour board, alongside that of his younger brother Duncan who was killed in action.
After the war, Mollison started a grocery story with his brother, David, who had not enlisted, and later married Alice Smith. He passed away in 1961.
