Alexander Hadden was born in Liverpool, England, and migrated to Perth where he played for Austral. He enlisted on 21 June 1915 in the 28th Battalion, the same day as his Austral teammate, Colin Parsons. Sadly the men shared the same fate; Private Hadden was killed on 29 July 1916 in the Battle of Pozieres. A few months later Colin Parsons was also killed in a field in France.
