Sidney Warrior was a regular for the West Sydney and then Glebe teams from 1910 until his enlistment. Born in 1891 in New South Wales, he was selected in 1914 as a reserve in the “Australian” team to play against “Scotland.”

On 16 August 1916 Private Warrior was gravely injured during the Battle of Pozieres with shell wounds to the back and arm. He died two weeks later on 31 August at the age of 25.

His eldest brother James, 10 years his senior, represented NSW in 1913 against Queensland playing alongside Soccer Anzacs Judy Masters and Ernie Bywater.
