London-born William Revell arrived in Perth with his parents in 1913 and played for the YMCA team in 1914 and 1915. While serving in the Middle East he was promoted from Private to Sergeant. On 9 June 1916 he disembarked at Marseilles on his way to the Western Front. Two months later he was reported missing in action during the Battle Of Pozieres. Seven months later on 23 March 1917 it was confirmed that he had been killed in action on 7 August 1916. He was 22 years of age.
