John Graham Mallock was born in Bothwell, Scotland and remained in the United Kingdom for the majority of his childhood before embarking at the age of 17, and seemingly alone, on a ship bound for Melbourne. He played for Irymple before enlisting in March 1915.
Information in regards to John’s movements at war, as well as after, is scarce but it is known that he returned on 19 June 1919.
