Arthur Leslie Bulbeck was the youngest Bulbeck brother at 22, and gave his occupation as “student” when he joined up on 30th September 1915. He may have been involved with the St Peters club, but does not appear on any team lists.

He served with the 6th Field Artillery Battery in France and returned to Australia on 29 May 1919.

After completing his theology studies Arthur married Dulce Stevens at St Andrews Church, Walkerville, in 1922. Rev Bulbeck became an Anglican vicar at Mannum in the Riverland, and in May 1924 became a foundation committee member of the Mannum soccer club. Two months later he refereed one of the first games to be played there.

Arthur Bulbeck rejoined the Australian army in 1940 and was appointed senior army chaplain to the Fourth Military District in Adelaide. He later served in the Middle East and the Northern Territory and retired in 1948. He went on to become Archdeacon of Adelaide. Both his sons served in the RAAF during World War II, and studied at university after the war. Francis Paul Bulbeck became a prominent architect in Adelaide, but Arthur David, who was studying art, drowned in a tragic boating accident at Grange in 1949.

Archdeacon Arthur Leslie Bulbeck died in Adelaide in 1964.
