C.G.F. (known as George) was the oldest brother and he is noted in several St Peters lineups for 1912, usually as a reserve for the first team.

All three brothers joined up on different days in September 1915. George, aged 26 and giving his occupation as “bank manager” enlisted on 9 September 1915 and went on to serve in France with the 50th Battalion.

He was killed in action at Noreuil on 2 April 1917.
