Private James Cameron’s last game for Adamstown before enlisting was in the second grade final in 1915. He won the Military Medal at Passchendaele Ridge in June 1918. On 19 March 1919, he married Jeannie Beattie in the parish of Esher, Surrey. With his wife he departed England for Australia on 23 July, 1919. He died in Newcastle in 1970, aged 75.
