Adolph Frederick Charles Albrecht was born on 19 July 1893 in Warrnambool, Victoria and the family moved to Perth soon afterwards. From 1912 to 1914 he played in the Training College first team.
Private Albrecht enlisted in September 1914 and had an exemplary military career: gradual promotions, wounded in action three times (at Gallipoli and in France) and mentioned in despatches in July 1919.
Captain Albrecht enrolled in a BA at Edinburgh University in 1919 with the AIF’s financial support before being released from service in April 1920.
His postwar involvement in the game is negligible. He also served in World War 2, being taken as a POW. He died on 18 August 1979 at Wembley, Western Australia, at the age of 86.
