Sydney Trovorrow Forbes was born on 1 April 1894 in Melbourne, Victoria. A teacher at Leederville from 1911 (initially a monitor), he played with Training College from 1912 to 1914.
Enlisting very early in August 1914, he was wounded in action at Gallipoli. He died after being shot by a German POW on 22 July 1916 in Rouen, Seine-Maritime, France, at the age of 22, and was buried in Villers-Bretonneux, Somme, France.
